About Us

The Hampstead Community Choir is open to everyone of all levels of musical ability who loves to sing.

There's no audition and you don't have to be able to read music.

We currently have about 60 members: our youngest are in their early 20s; our oldest are in their 90s.  We are a truly international group of people:   from the USA, Italy, Poland, Russia, Iran, Brazil, France, Spain - oh, and London too!

Our repertoire is incredibly broad. You could find yourself singing 13th Century choral music or a 21st Century rock song.  You may even find yourself singing Hallelujah both by Handel and by Leonard Cohen in the same concert!  The one unifying and important thing is the enjoyment that singing together can bring.

We work to a three-term year with rehearsals every Thursday from 7.30 to 9.00, and we perform three concerts a year;  one at the end of each term.  Audience entry is free, however at each of our concerts we have a leaving collection for a local charity

In addition to our concerts, we are occasionally asked to sing at various charity events.  We also have an annual Christmas Carol charity      'pub crawl' around Hampstead!

Our rehearsal room and our concert hall are the same: Hampstead's magnificent 18th Century church, St John-at-Hampstead in Church Row.

Our Director of Music is Aidan Coburn and our pianist and accompanist is Nathan Mercieca.
